Lecture Programme

Our popular lecture programme features prominent speakers who are incredibly knowledgeable about their respective topics

The lectures take place on Wednesdays at 10.30am at our event venue, Suffield Park Bowls Club, in Cromer.


The lecture series for Autumn 2024 will be Norwich and Norfolk.  Lecturer for this 6 week course, starting on 9th October 2024, is Pete Goodrum. Pete has written several books on the Norfolk Broads and the fine city of Norwich through the decades and this lecture series will include The Norfolk Broads, Norwich in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, "Five Norwich Lives" and 250 years of Jarrolds.

Returning in Spring 2025 will be ever popular Neil Storey, award-winning social historian and author. This will be an 8 week course, starting on Wednesday 15th January 2025. The course will look at different aspects of Social History, including medicine, crime, folklore, working lives in the past - interpreting family and military photos and even animals at work and war. Plus plenty of Norfolk stories.
